Mike Perry concerned BKFC might be setting him up – Michael Venom Page might not show up

Former UFC welterweight Mike Perry is set to bare-knuckle box Bellator’s star, Michael Venom Page in London on August 20. However, there’s a doubt in Perry’s mind that his British counterpart won’t show up.

The 30-year-old has signed a multi-fight contract with BKFC in 2021 after parting ways with the UFC. He won his debut against the ‘Let Me Bang Bro’ guy, Julian Lane, by unanimous decision.

Now in his second bare-knuckle bout, he will face Bellator welterweight star, Michael Page, who is on a one-bout contract with BKFC. The pair will bare knuckle box each other in Page’s hometown of London, England.

In June, the two faced off against each other in front of Buckingham Palace to promote their main event. But even with that kind of preparation underway, there is still a doubt in Perry’s mind that his opponent won’t show up and he’ll end up taking on a replacement.

In a recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, Perry spoke his mind.

“You know, I keep thinking, you know, he [Page] might be the one that shows up,” Perry said.

“Oh, you think they might switch it out?” Von replied.

“I’ll be there, I’ll be ready, I don’t care who it is, I’ll be ready. But, it is cool, this fight, before the UFC days, when I was like 7-0, seven knockouts, it went through Facebook, it got pretty big buzz. We’re trying to make the me versus MVP fight since back then.”

“I’m a fan of MVP. He’s done some really cool stuff. But, I feel like he’s always fought people that were put there for him to do that to them. And I’m not the one that you can just do that to. SO, we’re both in for a fight here.”

‘Venom’ just came off a controversial split decision loss to Logan Storley in Bellator 281 last May.

In June, it was announced that he is signing on with BKFC for a showdown against Perry.
