Where is the Iranian Hulk now? Will We See Him In MMA any time Soon?

Sajad Gharibi, widely known by his moniker “The Iranian Hulk,” is an Iranian bodybuilder, powerlifter, and social media personality. Born on December 19, 1991, in Ahvaz, Khuzestan, Iran, Gharibi gained global fame due to his immense physique, which he claimed he developed through rigorous bodybuilding training from a young age.

Sajad Gharibi (The Iranian Hulk) had millions of Instagram followers and has been rumored to use photo editing as far back as 2015.

Some of Gharibi’s posts:

He was involved in rumors of competing in boxing, MMA, and bare-knuckle boxing. However, Gharibi’s rise to fame has not been without controversy. His authenticity has been questioned by both fans and promoters, notably during negotiations with BKFC promoter David Feldman, who demanded proof of Gharibi’s experience and unaltered photos.

He then had a rivalry with British actor/stuntman Martyn Ford, who backed out of a boxing debut due to concerns about the promoter and Gharibi’s mental health.

Gharibi appeared disheveled and less imposing than Ford during the promotional phase in Dubai, exposing the photoshopping.

These doubts were further fueled by a canceled fight with fellow bodybuilder Martyn Ford, where Ford appeared to overpower Gharibi during a face-off and shoved him across the room.

Additionally, Gharibi’s unconventional training methods and dramatic physical appearance have attracted skepticism and criticism from various quarters.

After Ford withdrew, Gharibi signed with another promoter and boxed against a lesser-known opponent, Kazakh Titan, but was visibly unfit and lost embarrassingly.

Gharibi received comments from fans but did not reply, facing adverse reactions after his defeat and subsequently deleting all seemingly photoshopped content from his Instagram.

In a since then shared video, Iranian Hulk can be seen engaging in intense workout sessions, showcasing his dedication to improving his boxing skills and physical prowess.

Despite criticisms of his muscular appearance in edited Instagram photos, the video reveals his commitment to lifting weights and honing his athletic abilities alongside renowned bodybuilder Milad Shami.

While the Iranian Hulk’s physique may not appear drastically different, his efforts are clearly visible as he lifts substantial weights with apparent ease.

Accompanying the video is a poignant caption where he reflects on the challenges he faced, stating, “Last summer, I felt like a tree severed by the axe of betrayal and deception from the person I trusted the most… But I still have my roots.”

Despite boasting a whopping number of followers on Instagram, the strongman’s last post came in August 2023 – where he showed off his physical capabilities in the gym. He also noted that he was changing his physical appearance and increasing his strength. Instead, Gharibi has opted for limited-time Instagram Stories to give his followers an updated look at his crazy physique, last week posting a topless selfie while comparing his leaner build to his heavy-set look in 2022. Alongside the post, he wrote: “Hard work in silence. Faith in God changes everything.”

Gharibi also had patriotic aspirations. He said in a video posted to his account: “I have always said and will say that I will be a soldier for my country.” Gharibi has also previously explained how he held admiration for General Qasem Soleimani – former head of Iran’s elite Quds Force – who was killed by a U.S. airstrike in Iraq in 2020.

In his last post, Gharibi teased an appearance at Czech Pop MMA promotion Red face. Red face was recently in headlines for featuring an obese influencer against smaller opponents, one of which she lost to. It’s not inconceivable we might still see Gharibi in MMA, albeit most likely against an influencer.

While his post teased an appearance in 2023, that hasn’t come to fruition still Redface is putting on show regularly and he would fit right in.
