Floyd Mayweather confirms he’s interested in Conor McGregor rematch with an epic diss

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather revealed there’s interest in a rematch with UFC veteran Conor McGregor and it could even be a professional boxing bout.

The boxing veteran improved his record to 50-0 when he defeated the former UFC champion in 2017. Mayweather retired from professional bouts after that. Their first encounter was a success considering its pay-per-view buys. The event sold 4.3 million buys making it the 2nd on the list of most pay-per-view buys, behind Mayweather vs Pacquiao boxing bout from 2015.

Floyd Mayweather is scheduled for an exhibition contest against mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura on September 25. The undefeated legend also wished to have one more exhibition before facing McGregor next year.

Things got interesting when McGregor posted a picture of him boxing with Mayweather on his social media account and wrote ‘I accept.’ McGregor is still recovering from his leg injury, which he suffered in a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He is expected to be back at the start of next year so they can schedule a bout anytime next year.

Mayweather talked to daily mail earlier this week and said,

“I want to go out there this weekend and have fun, then I have another exhibition Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023. We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition of a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition,”

“I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment. So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don’t really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don’t really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself.” He further added.

There have been talks of an exhibition bout between Mayweather and Youtuber Deji. Mayweather and his team showed interest. Story developing.
