Iranian Hulk shades Martyn Ford for ‘cheap’ shove during face off

Earlier last month Iranian Hulk aka Sajad Gharibi had a face to face with ‘World’s scariest man’ Martyn Ford. Ford showcased his giant stature – and Gharibi fell short in the eyes of many spectators.

During their face to face meeting in Dubai tension filled the space and it culminated with Ford shoving the Hulk.

It’s this move that allegedly made Gharibi lose all respect he previously had for Martyn Ford.

“I want to clear up what happened when we came face-to-face,” Gharibi said at a press conference. “My only intention was to just get close to my opponent. But a very cheap and unexpected reaction took place. What does that show?

“It’s not very gentleman like, I have been here for ten days and I have been away from training and a lot of things that will help me. And during that meeting I wasn’t even ready, I wasn’t even warmed up yet. He replied by showing how scared he was but I guarantee on fight night wait for my reaction.”

“I wasn’t even wearing my sports trainers, I came in with relaxed clothing on. I am ready right now for any war to take place. I respect all bodybuilders but after what happened yesterday how can I respect him? Going forward I am going to show and broadcast myself so people can see what I am made of.”

Following the controversy Ford told media:

Things got contentious once again during the Abu Dhabi press conference between the two:

The two are expected to face each other on April 30th (the entire card was delayed from April 2nd) in the O2 Arena in London as a part of a Boxstar event. The card will also feature Manchester United legend Patrice Evra making his boxing debut.
