In the lead-up to the UFC 298 women’s strawweight bout between Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Lemos, the spotlight unexpectedly turned to Bobby Green and his candid on-air comments.
During the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 298, Mackenzie Dern came in quite an attractive physique that radiated readiness for her impending match. The anticipation surrounding the match heightened, and her appearance became a talking point even before the bout commenced.
During the event, lightweight Bobby Green was part of the UFC 298: Weigh-In Show presenters. He chimed in with a comment that sparked both laughter and surprise. When Dern made her entrance, Green let his intrusive thoughts win and commented “Sheesh!”
Green’s unscripted remark quickly went viral, drawing attention from fans and the MMA community. What followed was an unexpected turn of events as Green revealed that Mackenzie Dern herself reached out to him after the incident.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Bobby Green shared his version of the events that unfolded after the viral ‘sheesh’ moment. Dern interpreted Green’s comment as a compliment and thanked him for the acknowledgement of her physique. However, Green’s attempts to continue the conversation were not successful as Dern stopped him by saying that she had a husband.
Green’s tale then took a turn. He said Dern contacted him later from a different number, insisting they meet that day. Green’s unavailability prevented the encounter. When he responded later, Green received a surprising message – “This is her husband.”
Green couldn’t shake off the feeling that he might have been set up, yet nothing transpired between him and Dern.
In 2022, Dern filed for divorce from her surfer spouse Wesley Santos. She subsequently accused him of domestic abuse. The couple was involved in a very public divorce and court cases.
Dern recently revealed that she has been dating Antonio Trocoli for a year. Despite Green referring to him as Dern’s husband, it is still unknown whether the two are legally married. There were previously speculations that Henry Cejudo refered to him as Dern’s husband in the follow up to the couple visiting his gym.
Trocoli also competes in mixed martial arts, but has never been able to make it to the UFC.
As per the UFC, Trocoli’s pro-MMA record is at 12-3. His major break came when he was awarded a UFC contract in July 2019 after winning a bout in Dana White’s Contender Series. But after the match, he tested positive for PEDs. However, the result was changed to an NC and his contract was cancelled.
