Khabib talks woke America: “In Dagestan, there’s only male and female”

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s recent appearance at an event in Las Vegas brought attention to his straightforward nature.

During the event, Nurmagomedov shared a humorous anecdote about his experience with gender-neutral bathrooms in California, a concept not prevalent in his home country.

Nurmagomedov recounted the incident during an interview in Las Vegas, highlighting the culture shock he encountered. He expressed, “I only know men and women. There’s nothing in between. It’s crazy. A few weeks ago, I was in California, and I went to a cafe. I wanted to go to the bathroom. They showed me where to go. I go upstairs and there are two doors that say ‘For all genders.'”

He elaborated on the challenges he faced in this situation, attributing it to his remote upbringing in Dagestan, which adheres to a binary gender perspective. According to his ideology, there are only two genders—male and female—resulting in his bemusement at the concept of gender neutrality.

But even though Nurmagomedov retired, seems he hasn’t lost his cool demeanor.  A while back, at a Q&A session in England a belligerent audience member suddenly charged the Dagestani champion while he was talking.

Nurmagomedov remained ice cold saying:

“No, no, no brother… Brother, don’t do this. Guys, guys, let me talk.
Guys, I come from other part of world here, to see you guys. And you know… I think I deserve some respect too, you know? Thank you.”

“I just want to say something. I feel like around the world (there is a) big support for my people, who have the same views I have. And I really believe that here everybody has the same views.
And please, take care of your kids. This is our future. And that’s important.”

Nurmagomedov didn’t even flinch.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is renowned as one of the most accomplished and dominant UFC fighters, holding an undefeated record of 29 wins and zero losses. His dedication to rigorous training and his strong faith are contributing factors to his remarkable success. Notably, Nurmagomedov avoids aligning with “woke” ideologies.

Additionally, Nurmagomedov made headlines recently when he declined an invitation from Elon Musk for grappling training and sparring. Despite Musk’s desire to train with the MMA community, Nurmagomedov’s principles prevented his participation, firmly maintaining his focus on his own coaching and retired sports career.

As Khabib Nurmagomedov continues to make waves in various contexts, his candidness and adherence to his values remain central to his identity.
