Jake Paul offers big money to Will Smith and Chris Rock to stage a boxing match between them

Jake Paul might be prepping for his 6th boxing match but the work of a good promoter is never done. This is why Paul had a hilarious idea come to him during the broadcast of last night’s Oscar ceremony.

Will Smith may have won an Oscar last night for his performance in King Richard as the father of Venus and Serena Williams but the Oscars ceremony will likely be remembered for an altercation he initiated with Chris Rock.

Rock reportedly caused Smith’s ire by talking about Smith’s long time wife – Jada Pinkett Smith.

The joke that prompted the incident was aimed at Jada’s alopecia. Alopecia is the medical term for baldness. Smith’s wife has been open about her struggle with the condition. Back in December she posted a video describing:
“Now at this point, I can only laugh,” the actor said. “Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here. Look at that. So it just showed up like that and this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide.”

The video came after she had decided it was time to shave her head at the urging of the couple’s daughter Willow Smith.

“Willow made me do it because it was time to let go,” she wrote in an Instagram caption in July 2021. “But… my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed.”

Prior to the incident, Chris Rock made the following comments:

“Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it. Alright?” Chris said. After laughing it off, he added, “That was a nice one.”

“Wow, wow. Will Smith just smacked the s–t out of me,” Chris said.

Will then screamed from his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”

Chris then said, “Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke.”

Will then repeated, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”

Chris replied, “I’m going to, okay?” He then presented the award.

All of this prompted Paul to make a unique offer.

“I got $15m for Will Smith and $15m for Chris Rock ready to go. Let’s do it in August on my undercard”

Paul had started this year promising to do his best to push Women’s boxing forward. He helped match Amanda Serrano with Katie Taylor. But considering the amount of media celebrity conflicts get, Paul appears to have pivoted to staging Pop culture boxing. He previously offered to stage Kanye West boxing Pete Davidson. This is another match up that won’t be materializing in the near future.
