Dana White caught red handed – was watching Canelo box Bivol during UFC 274 co-main event

UFC 274 co-main event gave birth to many memes. The exciting finishes were almost diminished by the utter nonsense that was Rose Namajunas vs Carla Esparza.

During Rosa Namajunas’ championship loss to Carla Esparza, UFC president  Dana White was caught watching DAZN stream featuring Canelo Alvarez clash with Dmitry Bivol.

Last night, Alvarez was defeated by Bivol in a light-heavyweight championship match. This happened while Namajunas was defending her strawweight title against Esparza.

The champion was dethroned in Arizona in a 25-minute contest that saw only 68 blows land.

This isn’t the first time White was caught watching Canelo while Namajunas was in the octagon.

In November of last year White was captured watching boxing during Namajunas vs Weili Zhang. At the time he offered up an excuse – he had to watch the because he made a bet. He revealed that he bet $100,000 on Canelo finishing the boxing match with a KO. Dana White is estimated to have won roughly $41,000.

Dana White decided to watch Canelo Alvarez lose to Dmitry Bivol rather than the clash in front of him – and this time nobody can blame him.

Namajunas and Esparza were universally slammed for one of the worst title bouts in UFC history. While they landed a combined 68 strikes in 25 minutes the 3 minute long main event featured 55 significant strikes.

Another person tweeted, “I should have known from that elevator entrance music she had. She came to put the wrong person to sleep.

Fans expressed their displeasure by booing for long stretches of the match and during post-fight interviews. White claimed he had “zoned out.”

It seemed like they didn’t want to engage,” White told reporters. “I think there was a total of six punches in the first round; it’s a tough one but it happens sometimes.

He added, “I started zoning out halfway through it, so I don’t know [who won]. I don’t think anyone is clamoring for that rematch so we’ll have to think of something else.

Namajunas had won her previous three matches before she clashed with Esparza. Namajunas was defeated over the five-round distance. After the battle, ‘Thug’ was quite sad, stating that she thought she deserved to have her hand raised.

I won that ” Namajunas said. “I struck to the strategy, I felt as if I landed more shots. I even took her down. None of her takedowns were significant or with any control time. I’d say she hit me with one good punch. I felt like I did the damage'”

“I’m proud of myself because I stuck to my strategy.

She also said, “I’ve gotten my nose broken. I’ve stood there and shed blood in the octagon. I stuck to the strategy, and she didn’t really have any offence. She was whiffing at air the whole time. So, I thought I won.
