Former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili made an unexpected admission during a live broadcast alongside popular content creator Neon, revealing that he paid someone to obtain a fraudulent Covid-19 vaccination certificate instead of receiving the vaccine himself.
When the topic of Covid-19 vaccinations came up, the Georgian-born star did not hesitate to share his experience.
“In America we was getting vaccine. I fake it,” Dvalishvili said. “I make, I find and pay somebody to have a fake vaccine paper.”
Neon appeared visibly surprised by the confession and immediately asked how much the fake documentation had cost. Dvalishvili revealed that he paid a couple hundred dollars for it.
Surprised by how casually the champion was discussing the matter on a live broadcast, Neon responded, “Why would you say that on str3am?”
Dvalishvili, however, was unfazed.
“I don’t care, bro,” he replied. “I’m an old school guy.”
Neon then jokingly asked who had supplied the counterfeit vaccination record, but Dvalishvili made it clear he would never reveal the person’s identity.
“I will never say that name, motherf**ker,” he said.
Neon said, “Oh, that’s crazy but smart. A lot of people, they were forcing me, they were forcing everyone to get the sh0ts, bro. But you said f**k no, I’m not taking the sh0t,” he said.
Explaining why he chose that route, Dvalishvili said he believed the vaccine mandates left people with little real choice.
“It’s better to live a miserable life than death,” Dvalishvili added.
Dvalishvili lost the UFC bantamweight title to Petr Yan at UFC 323 last December, ending a championship reign that included three successful title defenses. He is currently hoping to secure an immediate trilogy bout with Petr Yan, but the matchup appears to be on hold while Yan recovers from surgery.
