(Video) Khabib’s son asked him if he can fight like Islam Makhachev

Khabib Nurmagomedov is the former UFC lightweight champion. He recently shared an amusing anecdote about a conversation with his young son. Despite being one of the greatest of all time, Khabib’s son innocently questioned if his father could fight like the current UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev.

In an interview, Khabib recounted the story, saying, “Honestly, he just asks me too many questions like ‘What about this?’ because when I retired, he was only three years old, and he didn’t understand anything.”

Khabib went on to share the specific question his son asked him: “A couple of weeks ago, he asked me, ‘Father, can you fight like Islam Makhachev?’ It’s like I’m like, ‘Why you ask?’ He said, ‘Because he is a very good fighter. I’ve never seen you fight like him.'”

Khabib admitted that his son’s query caught him off guard, describing it as “a very good question.” He explained that when he was actively fighting and winning titles in the UFC, his son was too young to fully comprehend the significance of his father’s accomplishments.

The exchange highlights the innocence of children and their perception of the world around them. While Khabib is regarded as one of the most dominant forces in mixed martial arts history, his son’s frame of reference is limited to the current UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev.

Despite his son’s lack of context, Khabib seemed amused by the situation, likely cherishing the opportunity to share his experiences with his son as he grows older and gains a better understanding of his father’s illustrious career.
