Former UFC champion BJ Penn has once again sparked concern among fans after sharing controversial content on social media regarding what he believes are impostors posing as his family members.
The 46-year-old MMA legend has made multiple posts claiming his family members, including his mother Lorraine Shin and brothers Jay Dee, Reagan, and Kalani Mamazuka, have been replaced by individuals wearing sophisticated disguises.

In a recent Instagram post, Penn elaborated on his beliefs, writing: “Let’s see how many ‘company men’ cry babies come on here and ignore the true application of these ultra real disguises for oppression and complain about this post with a small bird brain mind of thinking that I am ratting them out and they won’t be able to sleep around as freely as they do now. That’s not what this is about. I’m not here for that s**t.”
The former welterweight and lightweight champion has stated he notices physical differences in his family members that lead him to believe they are not the same people he once knew.
Penn seems to be harboring resentment for having to pay child support for his 3 kids.

Fans have expressed significant concern in response to Penn’s posts. One Instagram user commented, “Pretty sure a DNA test could help you sleep at night,” while another wrote, “GET HELP MY MAN.” A third supporter added, “I LOVE YOU BJ but damn you need some f****n help.”
This isn’t the first time Penn has shared unconventional viewpoints. In another recent social media post, the Hawaiian fighter claimed that CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) isn’t real, despite widespread scientific evidence of its prevalence in combat sports. In that post, Penn acknowledged the existence of brain damage and being “punch drunk” but specifically denied CTE as a condition.

He referenced boxing legends like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, and Joe Frazier in his argument, suggesting they did not suffer from CTE despite taking “millions of hits to the head.”
Penn’s recent social media activity has left many in the MMA community wondering about his well-being, with numerous fans publicly expressing their concerns about the his mental health in comment sections across his posts.
