Rampage Jackson lost $5M on Hawk Tuah Coin

In a revealing episode of The HJR Podcast titled “The Secret Life Of Rampage Jackson,” former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson shared candid insights about his financial ventures and challenges in the MMA world.

During the conversation with hosts Harrison and Showtime, Rampage discussed how stars often need to develop business ventures outside the cage to secure their financial futures.

“I lost $5 million in the Hawk Tuah coin,” Jackson stated bluntly during the podcast segment, leaving his hosts momentarily speechless. “I thought I was going to get $5 million.”

When questioned about his investment decision, Jackson appeared defensive:

“What are you making fun of me for, bro? I lost $5 million,” he explained. “They made it seem like if you invest in this, you’re going to make money.”

The “Hawk Tuah” phenomenon exploded across social media platforms earlier this year after a viral street interview with a woman who used the phrase to describe an intimate act. The phrase quickly became an internet sensation, spawning countless memes, merchandise, and apparently, a cryptocurrency coin looking to capitalize on the trend.

It turned out to be a huge rugpull which caused HT, real name Hailey Welch, to go on a lengthy hiatus and attempt several comebacks since.

“The funny thing is like me posting, but I’m fighting on Twitter. Some guys kind of like called me a brokeie because I’m fighting,” Jackson explained. “I’m not fighting because I’m like, yeah, money is part of what I’m doing because I still love it.”

When discussing his earnings as a fighter, Rampage acknowledged,

“I did good when I got to the UFC. Before the UFC, everybody ripped me off.”

He mentioned making more money outside the cage than from fighting, suggesting his diverse business portfolio has become his primary income source.

The podcast also touched on how fighters like Rampage have become entrepreneurs, with Jackson mentioning his involvement with F3 energy drinks and even discussing a potential AI twin project to interact with fans.

Jackson also expressed interest in boxing, specifically mentioning a possible “rubber match” against Wanderlei Silva, saying he would consider it for the right price:

“Two million, tell him two million. I’ll fight Wanderlei.”

Throughout the conversation, Rampage demonstrated loyalty to his business partners, particularly highlighting his relationship with Harrison, stating,

“I’ve done business with a lot of people and stuff, and you know, you always gotta watch my f***ers. And Harrison, I always been, he’s always been solid, bro.”

The podcast showcases how fighters like Rampage must navigate the challenging financial landscape of combat sports, developing multiple revenue streams to secure their long-term financial well-being.
