Prior to headbutting a delivery driver, Boxer Derek Chisora kissed one opponent and threatened to kill another

Derek Chisora, the British heavyweight boxer, has once again found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 40-year-old has a long history of controversial incidents outside the boxing ring, and he has now added another chapter to his list of chaotic moments.

Chisora’s latest incident occurred in Hampstead, London, where he was filmed headbutting a Deliveroo rider outside a restaurant. This latest altercation comes after Chisora had been enjoying a meal with his two daughters.

Promoter Frank Warren has come to Chisora’s defense, claiming that the heavyweight was “defending himself” and that the rider had initiated the confrontation. No arrests were made following the incident, and Chisora’s upcoming heavyweight clash with Joe Joyce on July 27 at the O2 Arena in London is still set to go ahead.

Throughout his career, Chisora has been known for his controversial moments outside the ring. In 2012, he infamously slapped then-WBC world champion Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in before their fight, and also spat water in the face of Vitali’s brother, Wladimir, shortly before the bout.

In 2016, Chisora took his rivalry with Dillian Whyte to a new level when he threw a table at his opponent during a press conference. The two had already been involved in a brawl weeks earlier, and Chisora’s outburst at the press conference only added to the feud.

Chisora’s rivalry with David Haye also took a turn for the worse in 2012, when the two engaged in a brawl at a post-fight press conference. Chisora went as far as to threaten to “shoot” Haye, leading to his arrest and investigation over assault charges.

Despite his history of controversial incidents, Chisora has managed to maintain a successful boxing career. He has faced some of the biggest names in the heavyweight division, including the Klitschko brothers and Dillian Whyte.

Chisora’s latest altercation with the Deliveroo rider has once again put him in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. However, with his fight against Joe Joyce still set to go ahead, the focus will now shift back to the ring, where Chisora will look to prove his worth as a heavyweight contender.
