Recently, President Donald Trump revealed plans for an unprecedented sporting venue to be constructed on the grounds of the nation’s most famous residence.
Speaking to reporters, Trump disclosed that a massive temporary structure will rise in front of the White House to host a UFC event as part of America’s 250th birthday celebrations.
“They are going to put up something that’s really amazing. It’s really having to do with our great 250th birthday, where we’re having so many wonderful things,” Trump stated.
The scale of the proposed venue is surprising. “UFC is coming, as you know, in front of the White House, with a building, literally a stadium. We’re going to have over 100,000 people,” the President explained, adding that the event could potentially break attendance records. “And this is going to have a lot of people. I won’t even say how many people, because I think it can set a record for racing.”
Trump emphasized the patriotic significance of the occasion, noting, “It’s going to be very, very important. We’re celebrating greatness with America.”
The announcement comes at an interesting time for the UFC, which recently underwent a significant change in how fans access its content. The mixed martial arts organization signed a major deal with Paramount that eliminated the traditional pay-per-view model in favor of a subscription-based approach through Paramount+.
The platform’s first exclusive UFC event delivered results that extended far beyond standard viewership metrics. According to sources, Paramount+ gained roughly one million new subscribers following UFC 324, its inaugural exclusive MMA event held in Las Vegas. The card averaged nearly five million viewers on Saturday night, setting a new benchmark as the largest exclusive live event ever hosted on Paramount+.
