Nate Diaz once Stockton slapped Khabib

Brothers Nick and Nate Diaz are legends of mixed martial arts, and they never backed off from a challenge inside or outside of the cage.

Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from UFC in 2020 after successfully defending his UFC lightweight championship at UFC 254. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame earlier this year despite the fact that Dana White repeatedly said he doesn’t rank Khabib among the Greatest UFC athletes of all times.

While Diaz and Nurmagomedov both gained the vast majority of the attention they have for their altercations with Conor McGregor, they both previously had incidents with each other.

The first incident with Diaz happened in 2015 at WSOF where Nate attended due to the fact a member of his entourage was on the card.

Khabib was at the event watching his brother’s bout. . Diaz revealed everything that happened on that night in an interview with Helwani saying:

“No, I was when it was interesting, now it’s like kicking a dead dog,” he said.
“I’m not into this bully s***, he’s [Khabib] into bullying and stuff, that’s his thing.”
“When I ran into him and his team at the World Series, I was standing there watching Jake, my friend, fight. And they took a group picture with me behind them, just to laugh at me, make fun of me.” He said.
He also criticized Khabib for presenting himself as Mr Good. He said,
“[Khabib] is like, ‘Ah, come on, man’ and they’re all laughing, 12 Russian dudes. I slapped him in his face for making fun of me and I’m like, ‘What?’ And he didn’t do nothing.”
“I was outside furious,” Diaz added of the 2015 incident. “So I waited for him to come out there and I went to get him again and he ran off.”
“I shouldn’t have done that. It was reckless, it was stupid. I was mad, but he was picking on me. So now he’s trying to act like ‘Mr Make It Right’. ‘I’m Mr Good, this guy’s a piece of s***, I don’t need this trash talk’.”

Diaz also criticized Khabib for his crowd jumping brawl after a clash with Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

The Diaz brothers and Khabib were involved in altercations more than once too. Nick Diaz threw a drink on Khabib during a UFC event. The incident happened at an action-packed UFC 239.

Dana White revealed after the event:

“Those two were within two rows of each other and then they started to get into it and we broke it up and we got it handled.”

“I’m sure a lot of bad things were said. I’m not sure exactly … I’m sure it was not good.”

No wonder Diaz poked fun of both Nurmagomedov and Chimaev ahead of his farewell bout this past weekend.

“Khabib’s a b**** a** was afraid of (Tony Ferguson) just like this b**** a** motherf***** was afraid of me yesterday,” he added about Chimaev.
“We punched his b**** a** in the back here and now he doesn’t make weight.”
“You guys already know what it is. Real Gs come from California, America, motherf*****.”
