Mike Tyson has a unique take on PED use in sports

Boxing legend Mike Tyson talked about PEDs and how he dislikes them being used in combat sports. While this might seem obvious, it’s contrary to a previous revelation Tyson made.

Tyson admitted to using a prosthetic filled with his baby’s urine to pass tests in the past.

Mike Tyson is undoubtedly one of the best boxers in history. The former heavyweight world champion had a violent style and was a knockout artist, boasting 44 knockouts out of his 50 wins.

‘Iron’ Mike retired from professional boxing in 2005, leaving a great legacy behind. Due to his immense strength, many combat sports fans believe Tyson was juiced. They believe it’s near impossible for top-class athletes to be clean.

Tyson was pretty much controversial back in the days, but never once caught using PEDs. During an episode of his Hotboxin’ podcast, Tyson claimed to be against PEDs when it comes to combat sports.

“I’M NOT AGAINST STER0IDS OR NONE OF THAT STUFF, RIGHT. BECAUSE EVERYBODY IS USING IT, RIGHT? BUT IT SHOULDN’T BE USED IN SPORTS WHERE PEOPLE ARE PHYSICALLY FIGHTING.”

“It should be, if you want to run faster, if you want to swim faster, anything. Except physical confrontation. It’s criminal when you’re going to hit a man [while on PEDs]. That’s attempted murder.” Tyson said.

During another episode of his podcast, the 56-year-old proudly revealed how he had been clever during PED tests. Tyson recalled his boxing days and said that he had a fake prosthetic filled with his daughter’s urine to give a clean urine sample.

“It was awesome, man. I put my baby’s urine in it. And sometimes, one time I was using my wife’s and my wife was like ‘Baby you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something’.” Tyson said.

He added, “And I said, ‘Nah, so we ain’t gonna use you anymore, we’re gonna use the kid.’ Cause I got scared that the piss might come back pregnant.”

Mike Tyson was always a fan of pot and even dabbled with coke during his glory boxing days. Those are illegal but not out of competition illegal in most cases because they don’t enhance physical power. Tyson tested positive for pot in 2004 and was fined $200,000.
