Khamzat Chimaev outs Logan Paul’s for not wanting to spar with him – “He Did With One Amateur”

UFC welterweight rising star Khamzat Chimaev once met YouTube boxer Logan Paul back in his early pro days.

In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Chimaev told a story about his meeting with Paul. Back when he was just 2-0, Paul visited Chimaev’s gym, All-Star Gym in Sweden for a song album shoot.

While in the facility, Paul also attended a training session and sparred with  some of the gym members. However, according to Chimaev, he only did it with the amateur members.

“I didn’t train with him actually… He was there and he did with one amateur. I was a professional guy at that time 2-0 or something. He didn’t wanna spar with me or other guys who’s professional,” Chimaev said.

“He chose one guy who is amateur, he don’t train anymore with the guys as well. Nobody knows him. He was like and he (Logan Paul) did with him like 50-50 on the sparring. And he left after that.”

Back then, Chimaev admitted that he doesn’t recognize the WWE star. But he also gave credit to him and his brother, Jake for improving their craft with time.

“I didn’t know who he was at that time. Now he gets better, his brother (Jake Paul) also gets better in boxing like he trains like professional now… maybe once I fight with them as well,” Chimaev concluded.

While hinting at a potential future showdown with one of them, his sight is set for the UFC gold at the moment. Now sitting at No.3 in the UFC welterweight ranking, he is now waiting for his shot at the belt currently held by Kamaru Usman.

The ‘Borz’ will return in September, headlining the UFC 279 fight card against the legendary Nate Diaz.
