Khabib slams Tony Ferguson Amidst Dana White’s UFC Comeback Proposal

Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov may be the most hyped fight that never even happened  in UFC history. Both lightweight stars were scheduled to fight several times, but it was always cancelled.

But now the fight will likely never happen considering Nurmagomedov retired in 2020. However, Ferguson is never tired from chasing the fight.

Recently, he challenged ‘The Eagle’ to compete against him in coaching on The Ultimate Fighter to squash their rivalry once and for all.

“I believe that when his dad [Khabib’s] said we were supposed to compete, I believe that. I would love to be able to coach against him in The Ultimate Fighter, how about that? You know, best man wins on the team. I guarantee my coaching is a lot better than yours, Khabib. Not a lot of people understand that.”

The idea was welcomed from both Nurmagomedov and UFC President Dana White.

“I’ll consider it,” White told Barstool Sports on Tuesday. “I will absolutely entertain that idea.”

He added with a laugh, “Hopefully, they’ll get pissed off enough at each other that they’ll actually want to fight.”

However, Ferguson apparently still wants a piece of Nurmagomedov despite the ongoing TUF talks. The former interim lightweight champion takes a dig at Nurmagomedov.

“Hey Khabieber. You Done W/ Your World Tour Yet? Bout’ Time Ya Man up And Face A Real Coaches Challenge… How Bout A Pie Eating Contest Fatty.”

Reacting to the slander, the former undefeated lightweight champion Nurmagomedov claps back with a short but merciless reply.

“I’m waiting for you to wake up.”

Nurmagomedov is referencing Ferguson’s latest KO loss to Michael Chandler at UFC 274 last month. Following a competitive first round, Chandler knocked Ferguson unconscious with a brutal front kick.
