In a candid reaction to Friday night’s highly anticipated boxing match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, UFC commentator Joe Rogan shared his disappointment with just three words: “Magic isn’t real.”
The bout, which drew 70,000 spectators and streamed live on Netflix, saw Jake Paul secure a unanimous decision victory over Mike Tyson with scores of 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73.
Prior to the match, Rogan had expressed optimism on social media platform X: “I’m getting ready to watch this Tyson vs Jake Paul fight like I’m watching someone cast a spell that I hope actually works. And I don’t really believe in magic. But I want to believe.”
The contest, featuring a 31-year age gap between the competitors, marked Tyson’s first ring appearance in 19 years. Despite showing impressive physical condition, the 58-year-old veteran managed to land only 18 punches throughout the eight-round contest while dealing with a knee issue.
Paul, who improved his professional record to 11-1, later mentioned he had held back during the match. Both athletes received temporary suspensions from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations following the event.

In a post-match interview with Ariel Helwani, Tyson expressed interest in future competitions, suggesting Paul’s older brother Logan as a potential opponent. Logan, who was present, responded assertively: “Motherf***er, I’ll kill you Mike.”
