Intel analyst calls out UFC veteran Jake Shields for spreading misinformation

Military intelligence analyst Ryan McBeth has criticized former UFC athlete Jake Shields for spreading what he claims is misinformation about Israeli soldiers on social media.

The controversy arose when Shields shared a video alleging Israeli forces were using a Palestinian individual as a human shield. McBeth, who provides military analysis, quickly challenged these claims by pointing out inconsistencies in the footage.

“You would typically want to be directly behind a human shield, not standing out in the open,” McBeth explained in a detailed response video. “Their protective posture doesn’t indicate that that person is being used as a shield.”

McBeth emphasized that the video lacks crucial context, noting that what appears to be concerning behavior could have a legitimate explanation. “It could just be the guy’s leaning down there going, ‘hey, listen, I’m going to loosen these cuffs up. You can’t do anything stupid, okay?'” he said.

The analyst expressed concern about the video’s growing popularity, particularly among individuals without military experience. He cautioned social media users to be critical of their information sources, especially when content triggers strong emotional responses.

“This particular misinformation video is starting to rise in popularity. And it’s being exacerbated by people who never served in the military and don’t know anything about the military,” McBeth stated.
