In a bold claim that has raised eyebrows across social media, former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall believes that just two versions of himself at his prime could defeat a silverback gorilla in combat.
The British strongman, known for his incredible feats of strength, shared his surprising theory during a recent conversation that has since gone viral.
“Me as a prime strongman like I was 430 pounds, I genuinely think two — I’m not one, I think one would get multi-death — but I think two Eddie Halls at the prime with a combined weight of 860 pounds would dominate a gorilla,” Hall stated confidently to Helwani.
Hall, who reached a peak weight of nearly 200 kilograms (approximately 440 pounds) during his competitive strongman career, elaborated on his strategy: “You would just pin it down and just hammer fist it to death. I think two big Eddie Halls would do the job.”
The claim comes as a surprising contribution to the long-running hypothetical debate about human strength versus that of great apes. Silverback gorillas are known to possess tremendous natural strength, with some experts estimating they can lift up to 10 times their body weight.
Hall, who made history in 2016 when he became the first person to deadlift 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds), has never been shy about showcasing his confidence. However, wildlife experts would likely disagree with his assessment, as adult male silverback gorillas typically weigh between 300-400 pounds and possess muscle density several times greater than humans.
The former strongman’s comments have sparked both amusement and debate online, with many questioning the feasibility of Hall’s hypothetical gorilla-defeating scenario.
Hall has transitioned to various entertainment pursuits since retiring from competitive strongman events, but his latest gorilla theory might be among his most attention-grabbing statements yet.
