Fresh off his dominant victory in his professional MMA debut, former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has expressed interest in a potential matchup that would certainly raise eyebrows across the combat sports world.
Hall, who made quick work of veteran fighter Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 on April 26, mentioned during a YouTube Q&A that he would welcome an opportunity to face former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.
“I would love to face Conor McGregor,” Hall said on his YouTube channel. “I think the weight difference would be absolutely comical. There is weight classes for that reason. There is weight classes for that reason.”
The physical disparity between the two would indeed be striking. Hall, standing 6’2″ and weighing well over 300 pounds, would tower over the 5’8″ McGregor, who typically competes between 155-170 pounds but walks around at approximately 190 pounds when not in training camp.
The British strongman made an emphatic statement in his MMA debut, finishing Pudzianowski in less than 30 seconds with a powerful right hand followed by devastating ground strikes. What makes the victory even more impressive is that Hall managed to secure the win despite suffering an injury during the contest.
During his post-fight interview, Hall revealed he broke his hand while delivering ground strikes to Pudzianowski. This injury will likely sideline him for an undetermined period, as the severity and potential need for surgery have not yet been disclosed.
While the matchup with McGregor remains highly unlikely due to competitive and regulatory concerns, it highlights Hall’s confidence following his successful transition into MMA. The sheer spectacle of such a matchup would certainly capture mainstream attention, even if practical considerations make it improbable.
For now, Hall will focus on recovery before determining his next move in his newly launched MMA career.
