Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson defends Israel Adesanya after UFC 276

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest movie stars today. He’s also a former pro wrestler and an avid sports enthusiast. Johnson is also a partner of the UFC having closed a deal to sponsor official shoes of the UFC last year with a collaboration with Under Armour.

The Rock has many famous fans including UFC middleweight champion. In recent years, The Rock was interested in starring in a biopic depicting the life of a UFC legend Mark Kerr but the movie ultimately fell through.

Israel Adesanya successfully defended his middleweight belt in the UFC 276 main event against a standout striker Jared Cannonier.

After Adesanya won the fight, The Rock praised him in a tweet. He said: “No one like him. Class by himself. One of one. Congrats my brother.”

The Rock made it quite clear in his tweet that he is a major fan of Israel Adesanya. He believes that no other person in the modern era has skills comparable to his.

The Rock might be in a minority here considering everyone from Jon Jones to Chris Pratt criticized his measured strategic performance. But Adesanya still has more high profile fans – among them are Joe Rogan and longtime lightweight champion of the UFC Khabib Nurmagomedov who recently shot down rumors he could defeat Adesanya and prompted people to show respect for him.

Unlike his performance, Israel Adesanya had a memorable entrance. He entered the octagon after entering the stage dressed as The Undertaker at UFC 276 . He carried the urn while singing Undertaker’s fabled entrance song while donning the black cap.
