Daniel Cormier Considering Hopping On PEDs And Peptides For Recovery Like Other Retired UFC Stars

Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier recently opened up about his post-retirement approach to recovery and performance enhancement during an appearance on Tim Welch’s podcast.

When asked directly about peptide usage, Cormier provided a straightforward answer. “No, I haven’t started using them yet. I have not. Everybody’s like, it’s like the whole thing. Everyone’s like, ‘Get on peptides,'” he explained.

The 45-year-old noted the pressure he’s received from other retired stars to explore these options now that he’s no longer subject to USADA testing.

Cormier referenced specific advice from fellow competitors.

“Initially, when the retired guys were all like, ‘Get on roids.’ Cowboy Cerrone was like, ‘Just get on roids. You’re not getting tested anymore,'” he shared. Despite the encouragement, the former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion has resisted making that leap.

However, Cormier acknowledged he’s now seriously considering certain recovery aids.

“But I haven’t started to do the stuff yet. I’m looking into it more now than ever. Especially like BPC-157. Guys are telling me that it’s a Wolverine blend is really helping guys to recover from long careers knee injury. So, I’m going to give myself some of that probably,” he revealed.

The discussion came as Cormier described the physical toll of returning to wrestling practice. “I was running wrestling practice and I started wrestling with the guys and now my back’s hurting,” he said, explaining that the soreness prompted him to use cold plunge and sauna recovery methods.

Cormier stated, “I started wrestling the boys but now I had to go sit in the cold plunge. I had to sit in the sauna because the whole body is hurting man. The body’s hurting after wrestling right now.”
