In a recent appearance on Jake Shields’ Podcast, UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell opened up about being a significant betting underdog in his upcoming fight against Jean Silva—a position he sees as disrespectful but potentially profitable for his supporters.
“It’s good for all my friends ’cause they’re going to make money when they bet,” Mitchell stated. “If you’re a betting man, now’s the time to bet the farm. I’m going to win and the odds are better than ever.”

Mitchell acknowledged Silva’s abilities but took issue with what he perceives as his opponent’s dismissive attitude. “I just don’t think he’s faced anybody like me,” he said. “It’s not the fact that he thinks he’s good that bothers me. I know he’s good. He thinks I’m nothing, bro, and I’m going to really put a hurting on this guy.”
The tension between the fighters has already surfaced in promotional events, with Silva mocking Mitchell’s past statements by bringing a globe to a press conference. Rather than being rattled, Mitchell embraced the hostility. “I don’t like fighting nice guys that I like. I’d rather fight these because they deserve to get punched, they deserve to get kicked, they deserve to bleed. And I’ll be happy to do that to the guy,” he declared.
Mitchell Believes That Silva is “Possessed by Demons”
During the same podcast, Mitchell made startling claims about his opponent, suggesting Silva is “possessed by demons” based on his reaction to hearing the name of Jesus.
“I do believe he’s possessed by demons. I’ve been around people who are demonic and what prompted him to maliciousness in the press conference was when I brought the name of Jesus up,” Mitchell explained.
Despite his harsh assessment, Mitchell expressed hope for Silva’s spiritual future. “But he still has hope. You know, after I beat the hell out of him, maybe he’ll wake up and maybe these demons will flee. But I’m going to quite literally beat the hell out of him, brother.”
Aliens are Demonic Entities, Not Extraterrestrials
One of Mitchell’s most controversial beliefs, which he shared during the interview, is that aliens do not exist as NASA portrays them. Instead, he believes they are demonic forces.
“Aliens do not exist in the sense that NASA oppresses them. It is not possible. There’s only one thing created in the image of God, that’s human beings,” Mitchell asserted.
According to him, any supposed alien encounters are actually interactions with demons. “If something comes down from the sky or from up under the water or appears to you in the form of what you would think is an alien, it is a demon,” he stated.
He also provided what he considers a biblical test to determine the nature of these entities: “How you test a demon or an angel is the name of Jesus. If an alien comes to you or any apparition comes to you and will not profess Jesus as Lord, it is not of God. That simple. And that’s from the scripture, that ain’t my word, that’s the word of God right there.”
Mitchell’s Struggles with Demonic Attacks
Mitchell also revealed that he has been experiencing what he calls demonic attacks while sleeping. “When I dream, I’ve had demons coming to me in my dream. They’ve all been wanting to fight me, and then the dream will switch and it will turn to beautiful women trying to lust me, to get me to cheat on my wife so that I have to live with guilt,” he shared.
According to Mitchell, these experiences have improved after he asked for prayers from fellow Christians. “The prayers work. My sleep has been more peaceful since I’ve had literally millions of people praying for me,” he said.
Bigfoot Exists, According to Mitchell
In a lighter moment during the interview, Mitchell revealed another of his unconventional beliefs—his conviction that Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, is real.
When asked about his least controversial political opinion, Mitchell responded, “Probably my least controversial opinion is that Bigfoot exists. I’m from Arkansas, so a lot of people believe that.”
Though he didn’t provide personal encounters or evidence, Mitchell’s statement highlights how deeply rooted such beliefs are in certain regions.
