Boxing champion admits wife took half his money AND half his titles in the Divorce

Boxing legend Sugar Shane Mosley had found himself in a unique situation following his divorce. The settlement between Mosley and his ex-wife, Jin, has raised eyebrows, especially when it comes to who gets to keep the championship belts.

According to TMZ, the divorce settlement outlines that Jin “shall maintain custody and control of three championship belts for each of the respective parties’ three minor children.” This means that each of their children will inherit a championship belt when they reach the age of 18.

However, it’s essential to clarify that these aren’t the official championship belts that Mosley holds but rather ornamental ones. Mosley, known for his remarkable boxing career, notably lost his Welterweight Titles to Manny Pacquiao.

In addition to the belts, Mosley’s ex-wife will also receive a significant share of his profits from the sales of videotapes and DVDs of his most notable fights. This aspect of the settlement ensures that she benefits from Mosley’s past successes in the boxing ring.

One notable exception from the settlement is the $3 million purse that Mosley earned from his fight against Manny Pacquiao. This fight occurred after the divorce settlement was reached, and the purse remains solely with Mosley.

Sugar Shane Mosley has had an impressive boxing career, amassing a record of 46 wins, 7 losses, and 1 draw. However, in recent years, he has faced challenges, losing three of his last six fights. Some might say he’s faced another kind of battle with his divorce.

Mosley recently shared his thoughts on the divorce experience, shedding light on the situation. When asked about the rumor that his ex-wife took half of his money and half of his belts, he confirmed, “Yeah, she did take half my bread. And we do get it in the belts. I, you know, they’re my kids. Three, three, three belts. I had. I was like, yeah, you know, whatever. Let’s get this divorce law. And Melissa sign the papers. They go. They go to my kids. I’m good. But she promoted like that just to try to, you know, discredit, be aware of, take your bills and have them which was battle her.”

Sugar Shane Mosley’s divorce settlement is a unique chapter in his storied career, adding an unexpected twist to his legacy both inside and outside the boxing ring.
