Blunder? Joe Rogan Called Iasmin Lucindo a ‘Young Man’ at UFC 313

A memorable slip of the tongue by commentator Joe Rogan during UFC 313 has set social media ablaze after he mistakenly referred to Brazilian strawweight Iasmin Lucindo as a “young man” during her walkout to face Amanda Lemos.

“Amanda Lemos is very dangerous, but this young man has tremendous potential,” Rogan said during the broadcast, seemingly unaware of his error. His colleague Daniel Cormier quickly attempted to redirect the conversation toward their hairstyles to smooth over the awkward moment.

The gaffe immediately caught fire online, with viewers expressing their disbelief across social platforms. “My jaw hit the floor. Complete mistake for sure. DC started talking about the haircuts trying to run cover for him. Hahahahahah,” one fan posted.

“This commentary is crazy,” wrote Twitter user Kevin, while another viewer, Brenton, admitted, “Thought I was hearing things.”

Some observers noted that Lucindo’s short hairstyle may have contributed to the confusion, though many emphasized that proper research and awareness should be standard for commentators.

The timing of the incident added another layer of irony, occurring on International Women’s Day, as multiple social media users pointed out.

This isn’t Rogan’s first commentary mishap. At UFC 291, he had a similar moment when interviewing Roman Kopylov after his victory over Claudio Ribeiro. During that exchange, Rogan appeared confused about Kopylov’s weight class, despite the athlete already competing in the division he was discussing.

While such mistakes are rare for the veteran commentator, some MMA enthusiasts have recently questioned whether Rogan maintains the same level of involvement and preparation in the sport as he did in previous years.
