In his latest Netflix comedy special “Bones and All,” comedian Anthony Jeselnik took aim at Joe Rogan’s podcast listeners with a sharp-tongued comedic takedown.
During his set, Jeselnik made it clear that while he considers Rogan a friend and “a good guy,” he didn’t hold back on his opinions about The Joe Rogan Experience audience, stating bluntly, “if you listen to his podcast, you’re a fucking loser.”
The comedian went on to share a personal anecdote about his brother-in-law, whom he described as “Joe Rogan’s biggest fan” and “target demographic.” According to Jeselnik, his brother-in-law never misses an episode and believes that four-hour episodes aren’t long enough.
In a particularly pointed segment, Jeselnik revealed that his brother-in-law, who works as a paramedic, subscribes to conspiracy theories. He shared how his brother-in-law refuses to become an organ donor based on the belief that paramedics won’t try to save organ donors’ lives in accidents, preferring instead to harvest their organs.
The routine, which has already begun generating buzz on social media, represents one of the more direct celebrity critiques of Rogan’s massive podcast audience. While maintaining respect for Rogan himself, Jeselnik’s new special doesn’t shy away from poking fun at the podcast’s devoted following.
Needless to say, Joe Rogan fans didn’t take too kindly to this commentary and had the following reactions:
“Rogan d*** riders think Anthony is insulting Joe, when the only people he’s insulting here are them 😂”
“Says the guy that dated Amy Schumer.”
“This guys watches CNN and The View instead 😂”
“Why is he trying to look like Jeff Foxworthy.”
“Punchline sells it if you listen lol.”
“It’s just a setup for a pretty funny tag.”
“Awww, poor s***lib is absolutely furious that young people don’t listen to leftist comedians or podcasts. Sorry dude, the left isn’t cool anymore, and you insulting people and calling them stupid is just making the left even more uncool.”
“Maybe it’s just me but all of Jeselnik’s jokes are the same. Always the play on words, always the unexpected play on the person. It’s just always the same.”
“That organ donor thing is an old Carlin bit.”
“This is like that other comedian making fun of Ricky Gervais. Just the most embarrassing s*** ever. Don’t they know how pathetic it looks to dedicate entire segments of your taped special to disparage a more successful peer?”
“Bones and All” is currently streaming on Netflix, marking Jeselnik’s latest contribution to the platform’s growing comedy lineup.
