Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has addressed confusion surrounding a viral video that showed a FedEx driver in an altercation with someone bearing a striking resemblance to him.
The incident gained traction after the Los Angeles Times shared footage of the encounter, leading many UFC fans to express concern for Sterling’s wellbeing, particularly following his recent bout against Movsar Evloev at UFC 310.
Sterling quickly took to social media platform X to dispel the rumors with his characteristic humor. “Lmaoooo if anyone really thinks that me….wow, just wow,” Sterling posted, followed by another tweet stating, “Nahhh I’m crying people really think that’s me vs FedEx guy [LAUGHS].”

The timing of the viral video came just days after Sterling’s competitive grappling-focused match against Evloev at UFC 310, where he fell short on the judges’ scorecards despite some fans believing he had done enough to secure the victory.
Currently, Sterling is focusing his efforts on supporting his teammate Merab Dvalishvili, who is preparing for his upcoming title defense at UFC 311. The 35-year-old athlete is also contemplating his next career move following his transition to the featherweight division, where he previously secured a victory against Calvin Kattar at UFC 300.
Sterling’s accomplished career includes a notable reign as bantamweight champion, with successful defenses against elite competitors including Henry Cejudo, TJ Dillashaw, and Petr Yan. While retirement remains one possibility, potential matchups await him should he choose to continue competing, including a possible bout with Bryce Mitchell, a fellow competitor he has previously trained alongside.
The viral video incident has provided a moment of levity for Sterling as he evaluates his future in the sport, with options ranging from another title campaign in the featherweight division to concluding his decorated career in mixed martial arts.
