In a heated exchange on Piers Morgan’s show that has sparked widespread discussion on social media, trans activist Blossom Brown made the controversial claim that “Black women cannot be racist to white women.”
The tense moment occurred during a segment featuring Riley Gaines, where the conversation quickly escalated into a debate about racism rather than the scheduled topic of transgender women in sports.
When Morgan challenged Brown’s statement, asking “Are you kidding me?” and saying “That makes no sense,” Brown doubled down on her position.
“I understand you don’t have the intellectual capacity to understand that,” Brown responded to Morgan, who continued to disagree, stating “Oh, yes, they can.”
The exchange grew increasingly confrontational when Brown extended her claim, suggesting she couldn’t be racist to Morgan either: “How am I racist to you? I’m Black. I can’t be racist to you.”
Morgan accused Brown of calling him a “race baiter with no evidence,” a charge Brown neither confirmed nor denied during the heated back-and-forth. Instead, Brown repeatedly referred to herself as a “powerhouse.”
As Morgan pressed for examples of his alleged race baiting, Brown eventually redirected the conversation, stating, “At this point, I’m just here to talk about trans women in sports. I said what I said.”
The clip has ignited debate across social media platforms about the definition of racism and whether it requires systemic power or can simply constitute prejudice based on race regardless of the individuals involved.
Neither Morgan nor Gaines have issued statements following the exchange, which overshadowed the intended discussion about transgender athletes in women’s sports.
