Mixed Martial Artist Emil Piatek has died at just 26 years old

The Irish mixed martial arts community is mourning the loss of Emil Piatek, a promising athlete who passed away at age 26 following a year-long battle with cancer.

Piatek was a highly respected competitor on the Irish amateur circuit, where he built an impressive record that included victories over notable prospects Leon Hill, Solomon Hill, and Ryan Keogh. He also engaged in a memorable trilogy of bouts against Pa Lehane.

2019 marked a breakthrough year for the young athlete. He captured and successfully defended the Cage Legacy lightweight championship before achieving international recognition at the IMMAF championships. His talents were on full display as he secured a bronze medal at the European championships and followed it up with a silver medal performance at the World championships.
