(Video) UFC star saves MMA Manager Ali Abdelaziz from drowning in Hawaii

UFC lightweight Ottman Azaitar saved prominent MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz from a potentially fatal incident during a recent trip to Hawaii. The harrowing event unfolded as Abdelaziz, known for representing some of the sport’s biggest names, found himself in distress while swimming near a waterfall.

Abdelaziz, who admits to not being a strong swimmer, ventured into an unexpectedly deep area of water. As he struggled to keep his head above the surface, panic set in, and the situation quickly became dire. It was at this critical moment that Azaitar, a 34-year-old Moroccan-German fighter with a 13-2 professional record, sprang into action.

Demonstrating quick thinking and bravery, Azaitar swam to shore and retrieved a vine-like rope from the surrounding forest. He then returned to the struggling Abdelaziz, using the makeshift lifeline to pull the manager to safety.

Speaking to TMZ Sports about the incident, a grateful Abdelaziz praised Azaitar’s character and actions. “Ottman’s a great kid. He has a big heart. He literally saved my life,” he said, clearly moved by the fighter’s selfless act.

The group had been enjoying some leisure time in Hawaii before heading to Salt Lake City for UFC 307, where Abdelaziz is set to support his client, Kayla Harrison, in her upcoming bout. This near-tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of water activities and the importance of water safety.

Azaitar, whose last UFC appearance was in mid-2023, has now added ‘lifesaver’ to his list of accomplishments outside the octagon. His quick response and resourcefulness in a crisis situation have earned him widespread admiration from the MMA community and beyond.
