UFC President Dana White offered his condolences following the unexpected passing of Brazilian athlete Allan Nascimento, who was just 34 years old at the time of his passing.
During a media scrum at the newly opened Meta Apex facility in Las Vegas, White was asked by a Brazilian journalist to comment on the loss that has shaken the MMA community. The reporter noted that the star had passed away the previous week and requested White share a message for Nascimento’s family, friends, and fans in Brazil.
“Yeah. I mean, it’s horrible. And I know that you know his whole crew and team were literally devastated. I mean these guys were so upset and it’s just one of those freak tragedy things that happen and you know to a young guy that it shouldn’t happen to,” White said.
The loss has particularly impacted the Brazilian MMA community, where Nascimento was known for his association with the legendary Chute Boxe academy, one of Brazil’s most respected combat teams that has produced numerous UFC competitors over the years.
The Brazilian flyweight joined the UFC in 2021 and went on to compete six times for the promotion, recording four victories. His final appearance came in June, when he faced Mitch Raposo in a closely contested match that ended in a split-decision defeat.
Nascimento had a professional career with a 22-7 record, establishing himself as a respected competitor during his years in the sport. However, his influence within Brazilian MMA extended beyond his own accomplishments inside the Octagon.
He trained under coach Diego Lima at Chute Boxe and shared the mats with several notable UFC stars, including former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and current lightweight contender Elves Brener. His relationship with Oliveira was particularly close, with the pair developing a friendship through years of training together.
