20-year-old student of Khabib gunned down for allegedly peeing on man

The tight-knit Dagestan squad of Khabib faced a devastating loss. 21-year-old Magomedrasul Mutaev was a promising contender from the team. He fell victim to a fatal shooting.

Magomedrasul Mutaev was a student of the late Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, same as UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Reports from Russian news outlets reveal that 19-year-old Dagestan native Nadyrkhan Kadyrkhanov stands as the primary suspect in this surprising murder. The motives behind this heinous act are believed to be driven by revenge, according to both law enforcement and media speculations.

The tension between Mutaev and Kadyrkhanov escalated when the former confronted the latter over certain comments. The confrontation turned violent, with Mutaev’s associates assaulting Kadyrkhanov. Allegedly, Mutaev is said to have urinated in Kadyrkhanov’s face during the group attack. Kadyrkhanov was humiliated by the occurrence.

Law enforcement and media sources point towards the disrespectful act as the prime motivator for this tragic murder. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the alleged incident.

A CCTV footage available on social media shows the chilling moment of the shooting. Mutaev left his training facility after a practice session and became the target of a white vehicle assailant who fired eight shots. Although Mutaev initially survived, he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance.

Hailing from Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, Magomedrasul Mutaev represented the region with pride. Making his debut in November 2023 as a light heavyweight fighter, Mutaev showcased his potential with a victory over Elgun Yusibov at AMC Fight Nights 122. Mutaev’s scheduled bout against Keyvan Rezaei Dalini at AMC Fight Nights 123 on February 23, 2024, will remain unfulfilled due to his untimely demise.

Khabib Nurmagomedov attributes the strength and warrior mentality of Dagestani combatants to a combination of genetics, challenging life circumstances, and cultural influences.

In an interview, Nurmagomedov explained that living in the mountains contributes to genetic advantages, coupled with the toughness developed through the region’s harsh life. Additionally, he emphasized the role of traditional wrestling culture in shaping the formidable competitors from Dagestan.

Following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement and Charles Oliveira’s brief stint as the champion, Dagestan once again celebrated UFC success. Islam Makhachev claimed the title with a submission win over Oliveira at UFC 280.
