Yaroslav Amosov retrieves Bellator title belt from recovered hometown Irpin

Bellator MMA fighter Yaroslav Amosov managed to recover his title belt from his hidey hole in his home in Ukraine.

Yaroslav Amosov joined the military in efforts to defend his country against the Russian invasion. The welterweight champion took a time to enter a ruined building in search of his welterweight belt. Upon finding the belt, his friend recorded it and Bellator MMA president Scott Coker himself shared it on his Twitter account.

“I’m speechless. Yaroslav Amosov is a warrior.” Coker wrote in the caption.

Amosov is from the city of Irpin. Irpin was recently recovered from the Russian army.

In the video, Amosov can be seen struggling to get out from an underground room inside a war torn building. Luckily, the 28-year-old came out with his belt in his hand and a big smile.

Yaroslav Amosov captioned the moment.

“A belt with a lot of history! Now I won’t give it away, mom safely hid him(the belt) and he survived the bombing.” Amosov said.

Yaroslav Amosov was scheduled to defend his welterweight title against Michael Venum Page on May 13 in London. However, ‘Dynamo’ had to pull out to defend his home country. The bout should’ve been his first title defense since he won the welterweight championship against Douglas Lima in June of last year.

Amosov is undefeated in his professional MMA career. He was in various promotions prior to joining Bellator MMA in 2018. So far Yaroslav Amosov has an MMA record consisting of 26 wins and no losses. No one can confirm yet when the Ukrainian will return to the cage.

Prior to the invasion Amosov was spotted at AKA Thailand, grappling UFC phenom Khamzat Chimaev.
