Sharaputdin Magomedov just got signed to UFC. Prior to that his biggest claim to fame was a time when he beat up a man in Makhachkala over a lukewarm public display of affection – and got away with it.
Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs showed surprise that the video surfaced 3 months after it was filmed due to the fact both parties had ‘made peace’.
“The events on the video took place on March 15, 2022. At the same time, the participants in the events after the conflict came to an agreement and reconciled; none of them, like eyewitnesses, contacted the police…,”
The 28-year-old has a peculiar appearance compared to other natives of Makhachkala.
Magomedov has ginger hair and a beard. He also has a tragic story about an incident with his eye that caused him to lose 2 years of his pro career.

In an interview with Athletistic, the Russian finally revealed his story. He said that it took a lot of motivation to return to MMA and that being away from the sport for 2 years took its toll on him.
He continued by describing his horrific surgery and said that his eye was taken out of its socket and that even anesthesia did not work.
“Before the operation, I was mainly afraid of an injection in the eye. I watched this video. Very unpleasant. I thought that was the most boring thing ever. And there were such operations when an injection in the eye had to be made, where it was removed, one might say.”
Magomedov talked about anesthesia:
“At this time, local anesthesia is administered, but you feel everything,”
If they let Shara Bullet slip through their fingers I would have been very disappointed. Great signing by the UFC. https://t.co/Uc4vG8I9W7 pic.twitter.com/BMTHP7htdY

Regarding his return to MMA, he said that the doctor said:
“The worst thing that can happen to your eye has already happened. Therefore, you can practice.”
When Magovemedov was signed to the UFC, ESPN reported that the Dagestani had an MMA record of 17 wins.
