Welp: Bo Nickal might never be a champ after admitting to using AI To Formulate ‘The Perfect Gameplan’ for UFC 300

Rising star Bo Nickal is not leaving any stone unturned as he gears up for his highly anticipated return to the Octagon.

The three-time NCAA Division I National Champion has won decisively his last matches in the organization. He will now be competing against South Carolina native Cody Brundage at UFC 300 on April 13. This match promises to be his hardest test yet.

To gain a competitive edge, Nickal has disclosed his utilization of the cutting-edge AI language model ChatGPT. Nickal shared insights during a recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, emphasizing the meticulous process of extracting valuable information from ChatGPT.

He stated: “I’ll go into ChatGPT, and you have to ask it the right questions. But I’ll say, ‘Hey, formulate a game plan for this type of fighter. I’m a wrestler at middleweight, this that, blah, blah, blah, and I’m going to fight this guy — give me the perfect gameplan for him.’ It’s not like ‘boom,’ easy, you kind of have to prod it a little bit, but it’ll get closer”

Nickal acknowledged that while it requires some prodding, the AI progressively refines its responses and offers increasingly accurate and beneficial information.

ChatGPT has a significant impact on sports betting and fantasy sports. It can be used to predict game outcomes, provide insights and suggestions for player selection, analyze sports data and spot patterns and trends, and provide real-time analysis and commentary during live events.

It won’t be long until teams and athletes may use the technology to gather information about their rivals and choose which course of action is most likely to result in success.

Nickal continued: “I would say, ‘Formulate a gameplan for a wrestler against a striker in an MMA fight under these rules,’ and then I would ask it more detailed questions from there. It’s given me good information, so we’ll see where it can go. In five years, it’ll probably be able to download video of somebody and tell you every one of their weaknesses.”

Bo Nickal was honored as the UFC’s 2023 Rookie of the Year. He has been praised as one of the biggest rising stars after consecutive victories on Dana White’s Contender Series and impressive wins over Jamie Pickett and Val Woodburn. As he steps into the limelight in 2024, Nickal aims to ride the wave of his past successes.
