Joe Rogan has a very lively fanbase – after all he went from being a D list celebrity to now being on a shortlist for Time magazine man of the year. He’s also been veering into the poltiical sphere for a while.
Joe Rogan’s Joe Rogan Experience podcast, a cultural powerhouse with a $100 million Spotify deal, attracts a vast and diverse audience, featuring guests from various domains. However, its appeal isn’t universal, as revealed by a Change Research study of 18- to 34-year-olds. The study highlighted intriguing gender divides in dating preferences: 55% of women deemed listening to Rogan’s podcast a “red flag,” compared to 35% of men. Women were also put off by partners lacking hobbies or refusing to watch the Barbie movie, while men found astrology and specific community affiliations concerning. On the flip side, both genders valued partners who read, with women showing a preference for liberal, socially conscious traits. These findings underscore how media consumption shapes cultural perceptions, though Rogan’s podcast remains a dominant force in the landscape.
In a viral social media post, Hope Walz, daughter of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, shared dating advice that has sparked widespread discussion online. The governor’s daughter revealed a screening method she and her friends use when considering potential romantic interests.
“A litmus test for me and my friends for like years now has been if the guy we’re talking to follows Joe Rogan on Instagram they’re a red flag and we should probably stop talking to them,” Walz stated in the video.
She emphasized that this approach has proven reliable in her experience, adding, “It’s literally never failed us and at this point it’s like the first thing we do when someone starts talking to a new person.”
Walz went on to explain that following Rogan often indicates misaligned values, stating, “if they follow him we’re like yeah this person probably isn’t a great person and probably our values don’t align so we’re gonna move on from that.”
The governor’s daughter also expressed criticism of Rogan’s podcast content, questioning his professional standards. “I don’t know how you have the largest podcast in the world and are able to just lie and put out misinformation and straight up lies on your platform,” she remarked.

Joe Rogan, who hosts “The Joe Rogan Experience,” has not responded to these comments. The podcast reaches millions of listeners globally through Spotify, where Rogan signed an exclusive deal reportedly worth over $200 million.
The video has generated significant engagement across social media platforms, with users divided in their responses to Walz’s dating advice.
