(Video) UFC Legend Chuck Liddell consoles Tony Ferguson after devastating loss

UFC 274 delivered the hype it promised. The two bouts that are sure to keep people talking are lightweight matchups between Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.

The main event saw the former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira submitting Justin Gaethje in the first round.

With the victory over Gaethje, ‘Do Bronx’ has secured a shot at the vacant title he lost on the scales a day prior.

Blockbuster showdown between crowd-pleasers Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson took place earlier that same night. This was the first time Ferguson competed since UFC 262 back in May of 2021.

In the first half of the opening round, Ferguson gained the upper hand as he dropped Chandler with a one-two combination.

Chandler then retaliates with a takedown and vicious ground and pound to catch up.

Several seconds into the second round, Chandler landed a front kick that landed perfectly on Ferguson’s chin.

No need for him to throw follow-ups as the referee quickly stopped the action.

While the moments were painful to watch for some, a touching moment followed a short while later.

Upon leaving the octagon, Ferguson ran into UFC legend Chuck Liddell. The former light heavyweight champion then gave ‘El Cucuy’ a hug and some consolidating words.

Meanwhile, inside the octagon, the victorious Chandler was once again calling out the UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Ferguson was taken to a hospital for a MRI a short while later. Thankfully the scan came back negative and Ferguson was allowed to go home.
