Comedian Theo Von shared his memorable encounter with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, describing it with his signature storytelling style.
Von vividly detailed how McGregor made his entrance, sporting an impeccably fitted suit that appeared to have been “just stitched right around him just a second before he walked into our view.” The comedian painted a picture of McGregor’s pristine appearance, describing him as looking “fresh out the tap.”
The encounter took place as Von and others were about to board a bus, when McGregor approached them with characteristic Irish charm. “How you going lad, class class lad,” McGregor said, according to Von’s animated retelling.
What struck Von most was McGregor’s extraordinary energy level. “His energy was honestly a lot of good energy that he rolled up with,” Von explained, noting that McGregor approached the Paul brothers despite previous online disagreements between them, which Von admitted he wasn’t aware of at the time.
Von’s colorful description continued as he compared McGregor’s presence to that of the Notre Dame mascot, but “twice as bad as that little mascot guy.” He went on to paint a vivid picture using Irish geography, comparing McGregor’s strength to “the cliffs of Moher.”
The comedian’s storytelling reached its peak as he attempted to quantify McGregor’s aura, playfully suggesting it was “about six, seven, 7,000, 8,000,” before humorously pondering about currency exchange rates and Irish monetary systems.
Von seemed to be unaware of unimpacted by McGregor’s recent public fail. Irish MMA star Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay approximately $1.64 million in legal costs following a civil case in Dublin brought by hair colorist Nikita Hand, who had previously been awarded $273,000 in damages after a jury found McGregor assaulted her at a 2018 Christmas party. The court heard that Hand sustained severe bruises and suffers from PTSD. The judge criticized Lawrence’s defense, which he said unfairly portrayed Hand, and hinted at possible contempt proceedings against McGregor for his social media comments about the trial. McGregor’s legal team signaled a likely appeal.
A number of business partners have since dropped McGregor’s brands or McGregor’s endorsement including Proper 12.
