(Video) Surprise Throat Grab steals thunder during 284 weigh ins, main event official

The official weigh-ins for UFC 284 in Australia just took place. It was an exciting event that also saw Youtube stars Logan Paul and KSI.

The headliners of the show, Islam Makhachev, and Alexander Volkanovski were quite respectful toward each other.

However, a bit of drama arose when the competitors from the prelims were facing off.

This happened because Melsik Baghdasaryan grabbed Joshua Culibao’s throat during their ceremonial weigh-in.

Baghdasaryan made his way to the stage and was followed up by Culibao, who was quite hyped and even took a selfie with the crowd.

When the two faced off, Culibao started getting closer to Baghdasaryan. He eventually pushed him away by grabbing his throat.

The onlookers immediately stepped in between the two and Baghdasaryan left the stage. After he left, the camera panned back to Culibao who was showing him the bird.

He also hyped up his home country’s crowd, who cheered for him.

Most fans are not liking Baghdasaryan’s behavior and are calling him all sorts of names for his arrogant demeanor.

For example, one user wrote the following on social media: “Everything about this guy is unlikable. He has disgusting, off-putting energy. Tuning in and hoping he gets KO’d.”

Meanwhile, there are some who are blaming Culibao for getting into Baghdasaryan’s breathing area.

The two featherweights did not have any heat prior to the matchup, but it seems that they do now.

Baghdasaryan has a record of 7-1 and made his UFC debut in 2020 through Dana White’s Contender Series 31. He won both of his matches in the company, even earning a Performance of the Night bonus in one of them.

Meanwhile, Culibao has a record of 10-1-1, and his last match was a split-decision win against Choi Seung-woo. He also joined the UFC around the same time as Baghdasaryan.

This is the second-ever pay-per-view appearance for both.
