(Video) Ryan Garcia Reveals What He Actually Drank, Appears Lucid in FaceTime Chat

Ryan Garcia has cleared up the mystery around what he drank at the controversial weigh-in for his boxing match against Devin Haney. In a FaceTime chat with Jake Paul, Garcia appears calm and normal, contradicting his erratic behavior at Friday’s weigh-in where he missed weight by over 3 lbs.

At the ceremonial weigh-in, Garcia was seen downing a bottle that appeared to be a pint before getting into an altercation with Haney’s team. However, in the FaceTime video, Garcia reveals to Paul that he actually drank a mix of apple juice and sparkling water, not what it appeared to be.

“You all got? Do you have extra be er to get you up?” Paul asks Garcia in the video. Garcia responds calmly, “Apple juice and sparkling water HEHE.”

His admission clarifies that despite missing weight badly at 143.2 lbs for the 140 lb bout, Garcia was not under the influence of alcohol as many had suspected from his weigh-in antics.

The boxing match between Garcia and Haney for the WBC super-lightweight title is still scheduled to take place. Promoter Eddie Hearn downplayed the significance of Garcia’s weight miss, saying “I don’t think it makes a huge amount of difference.”

With Garcia now confirming he was clearheaded at the weigh-in, all eyes turn to the ring on boxing event night to see if his erratic behavior was manufactured dramatics or a sign of potential struggles to come against the defending champion Haney.
