(Video) North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn chops a tree with his bare hands

Some men take the combat sports lifestyle too far – but more often than not those are men actually involved in martial arts. One person to stray from this statistic is North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn.

Madison Cawthorn recently shared a video of himself beating up the tree and effectively chopping it with his bare hands.

At age 18, Cawthorn was seriously injured when his friend fell asleep at the wheel and their SUV crashed into a concrete barrier while Cawthorn’s feet were on the dashboard. The injuries from the accident left Cawthorn partially paralyzed, and he now uses a wheelchair.

Cawthorn is an American politician who has been in the news as of late thanks to outrageous claims of substance abuse in Washington and unsavory behavior. He recently admitted suggestions that his collogues were overindulging in illegal substances and had invited him to adult entertainment parties were ‘exaggerated’ following a tense meeting with representative Kevin McCarthy.

“Madison’s stuff irritates me because it’s not true,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told Axios‘ Andrew Solender. “He’ll have to either name names or retract it.”

“In the interview, he claims he watched people do c—-ne. Then when he comes in he tells me, he says he thinks he saw maybe a staffer in a parking garage from 100 yards away,” McCarthy said.
“It’s just frustrating. There’s no evidence behind his statements. And when I sit down with him … I told him you can’t make statements like that, as a member of Congress, that affects everybody else and the country as a whole.”

Naturally Cawthorn has a lot to be angry about – so he let the anger flow toward trees. No word yet on if his primal instinct was inspired by Jiri Prochazka’s similar routine.
