(Video) Nasty bulldog submission finished with the legs up on the fence

The inaugural event of ONE Championship in Qatar took place at the Lusail Sports Arena, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.

In the most exciting clash of the evening, strawweights Keito Yamakita and Jeremy Miado entered the Circle.

Eager to bounce back from recent setbacks, both athletes sought redemption. But it was Keito Yamakita who emerged victorious, securing a first-round submission.

Unlike the conventional ring used in ONE 166, the event featured the Circle. Yamakita demonstrated exceptional skills by strategically employing the cage wall, leading to a decisive tap.

Yamakita’s grappling proficiency played a pivotal role in his win. Beyond his technical skills, he showcased remarkable awareness and creativity throughout the bout.

Initiating the search for a bulldog choke, Yamakita showcased a strategic maneuver. He circled Miado until his opponent’s legs aligned with the cage, allowing him to leverage the cage’s surface.

Capitalizing on the unique position, Yamakita then walked up to the cage. He then pressured him and intensified the choke by altering the angle. This strategic move ultimately led to Miado tapping out.

Yamakita’s victory marked a return to form, displaying his skills when the bout transitioned to the ground. With this win, he got his name back to the win column.

Yamakita suffered a setback against the #2-ranked Bokang Masunyane in his previous outing. However, the 27-year-old is now poised for another high-stakes encounter in the strawweight division.
