(Video) MMA Legend has a funny explanation for why Men’s testosterone is lower in 2024

In the early days of MMA, the sport was notorious for its lack of strict rules and regulations. This was especially regarding the use of PED.

St**oid use was rampant among contenders, with legends like Mark Coleman openly admitting to using PEDs. However, one notable exception to this trend was Quinton  Jackson. This fact that recently astonished Coleman during an episode of the JAXXON podcast.

During his appearance on the JAXXON podcast, Coleman shared a range of personal stories, from surviving a house fire to his iconic combat sports career. The UFC Hall of Famer also confessed that he and many competitors from his era had taken PEDs.

Coleman stated: “You would have been a motherfu**er. You would have been fu**ing, you were great, but you would have played with people. I just remember locking up with you one time. I remember you were cutting weight. You were one of the strongest dudes in the world. Even when you were cutting weight, you were still incredibly strong.”

Despite never using st**oids, Jackson admitted to undergoing Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) following his loss to Jon Jones in a light heavyweight title match. Ironically, Jones has faced multiple PED violations and suspensions from the USADA at that time.

Rampage Jackson now co-hosts the JAXXON podcast, which has come up as a significant platform for MMA fighters to share their stories. The podcast has featured numerous prominent UFC contenders, including Cub Swanson, Paulo Costa, Stipe Miocic, and Manel Kape.

In a memorable episode with Paulo Costa, Jackson inquired about the Brazilian contender’s infamous ‘Secret Juice.’ Jackson also discussed how the now-defunct Pride FC organization did not test for anabolic ster*ids. Additionally, he revealed that a doctor was once skeptical of his claim of not using ster*ids due to his low testosterone levels. Jackson offered an intriguing theory about why modern men have lower testosterone levels.

Jackson speculated: “In the year 2024, a lot of men’s testosterone levels are lower. All men, all around, have lower testosterone levels. Some people say it has something to do with birth control. If a woman is on birth control and you have s*x with her, they say it makes your testosterone lower.”

Although Jackson admitted he wasn’t certain about the scientific basis of his theory, his co-host Bear Degidio humorously suggested Jackson might have picked up the idea from a viral TikTok video. Degidio also pointed out that stress could be a significant factor in Jackson’s low testosterone levels.

Generally speaking, Women’s birthcontrol has no affect on men unless they’re the ones taking it. However what it does affect is the women’s level of testosterone therefore making women on birthcontrol less likely to initiate and enjoy the tryst. This lower drive can theoretically result in men not getting as much release as before which could lower their testosterone.
