(Video) Khamzat Chimaev Submits Bellator Lightweight During Hard Core Grappling Session

A video recently emerged of Chimaev rolling with Bellator fighter Kane Mousah, at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand.

The Muay Thai gym is currently hosting a large group of elite fighters, including Petr Yan, Rafel Fiziev, Marlon Moraes, Yaroslav Amosov, and many others.

And while training in Thailand, several videos of Chimaev’s sparring have been posted online.

Everyone knows just how good of a grappler Khamzat is, and yet, in this particular video, the ease with which he handles Kane is still pretty incredible.

In the video, Khamzat is seen stuffing Mousah’s takedowns attempts by working on getting underhooks while also disrupting Mousah’s head position, in order to break his posture and stuff the takedown.

From there, Chimaev secures two underhooks, works to get on his opponent’s back, picks up the Bellator fighter, and gets him on the ground. From there he quickly transitions into an armbar… really beautiful work.

The Chechen fighter has displayed his wrestling capabilities a few months prior when he beat Jack Hermansson In Freestyle Wrestling.

There is even more footage of Chimaev’s work in Thailand. The thought of the Welterweight contender getting even better by training there is a scary thought for the rest of the division.

Chimaev’s next opponent is still unknown, he and Gilbert Burns have agreed to fight each other on April 9, but the UFC has not made an official announcement of the fight yet.
