Unusual interactions between MMA stars and fans are quite common. A recent meetup video between UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and a fan recently became viral.
A fan for some inexplicable reason, expressed a desire to experience being submitted past the point of consciousness out by the renowned UFC GOAT. Jones decided to oblige to the request.
In a video story on his Instagram, Jones can be seen putting a fan in a submission. Jones holds the submission, which causes the fan to become unconscious eventually. The video was posted along with a text reading “Good times.”
The situation might seem quite weird, considering Jones has famously submitted some of the most formidable opponents in UFC history. Some of them include Ryan Bader, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, and Lyoto Machida.
However, this is not the first time Jones is choking a fan unconscious. Several years ago, he submitted another fan unconscious at the FIBO fitness trade show in Cologne, Germany.
After choking him out, Jones then tried to revive him by lifting their legs. The individual woke up in a groggy state. In a surreal moment, the two then embraced.
After giving up the UFC light-heavyweight championship, Jones made a successful move to the heavyweight division. In a dominant performance, he secured the UFC heavyweight title by defeating Ciryl Gane. The match lasted just over two minutes, showcasing Jones’s skills in the heavyweight division.
Since winning the title, Jones has been inactive for quite some time due to various injuries.
Jon Jones is now expected to compete against heavyweight star Stipe Miocic. As he heals from his injuries, it seems like the matchup may take place this year. Even though Jones was approached for competing in the main event of UFC 300, he has declined. Fans are eagerly awaiting when the UFC GOAT will compete next.
Also Jones has hinted that if he wins the matchup against Stipe, he might retire.
