Jon Jones just can’t catch a break. Troubled UFC Hall of famer was the subject of the released bodycam footage from his arrest outside of a Las Vegas hotel last year. Jones,34, was arrested by the LVMPD on charges of misdemeanor battery domestic violence and felony injuring and tampering with a vehicle.
Las Vegas Review Journal obtained and published the arrest video. The video showcases Jones’ erratic behavior during the arrest including the headbutting a police vehicle that added another charge to his resume.
Jones can be heard during the video: “Why are you doing this?”
“This is so humiliating. I got the Hall of Fame tonight, and then you’re gonna put me on this by walking down the street.”
“You f*cking nerd, I hate you,” Jones says. “I hate you! I hate you! You f*cking nerd! I hate you so much!”
For a large chunk of the video Jones seems convinced he’s being racially profiled when in reality one of his daughters made the request that police be called once she and her mother were talking to the security guard at the hotel.
“Bro, hang me, hurt me and kill me. What did I do?” His voice breaks a moment later as he yells, “A Black man can’t drink?! Getting elected into the Hall of Fame, and this is what I got?!”
Jones’ fiancé Jessie Moses told police that Jones put his hand on her but it was “not too physical”. This is in stark contrast to what the police observed – she reportedly had blood on her lip, a bump and blood all over her hoodie.
With Moses reluctant to press charges Jones was allowed to reach a plea deal with prosecutors. The domestic violence charge was dismissed, and he pled no contest to the misdemeanor charge of destruction of property.
