(Video) Israel Adesanya gets emotional watching Jamahal Hill become the new champion

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya got emotional watching Jamahal Hill winning the light heavyweight championship.

Israel Adesanya often posts reaction videos of him watching UFC major events on his Youtube channel FREESTYLEBENDER. ‘The Last Stylebender’ would sit down and chill along with family and friends with a camera recording their reaction back in his home in New Zealand.

The 33-year-old Nigeria born didn’t miss UFC 283 last weekend. The event took place in Brazil with a light heavyweight title bout between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill being the main event. Adesanya watched keenly when Hill outclassed Teixeira and became the new light heavyweight champion.

Many were doubting Hill would go more than a round against the former champion. But, he proved them wrong. ‘Sweet Dreams’ dominated Teixeira for 5 rounds in every aspect of the game. The match was pretty much thrilling for Hill, as he was a few steps away from getting finished by Teixeira. Despite him dominating Teixeira, the Brazilian refused to back down.

During his octagon interview, Jamahal Hill went emotional and slammed those who doubted him.

“From where I came from to get to this, it’s unreal. Anything is possible, hard work, dedication, accountability, don’t let anybody tell you nothing. Too many people told me I couldn’t do it was impossible, that I could only win in one round and I couldn’t to go five, what the f*** you gonna say now?” Hill said.

Israel Adesanya understood Hill’s situation and went emotional as well. He explained how it’s not easy to keep composure against a tough opponent like Teixeira who kept coming at him.

“Very special. Crazy. Because I said, only a few, very few humans will understand that feeling. Even watching Jamahal Hill go through it, I was getting chills watching him. And to get to that point in a fight like that..He’s dominating but to get to the fifth round, you’re trying to put this guy away, he’s not going away…And some people can fold under that kind of pressure, but he didn’t. He stayed true…He’s crying, emotional, it’s f***ing beautiful man.” Adesanya said.
