Gillian Robertson did her best to put her opponent to sleep during UFC 269’s first fight. Robertson came out strong – and set up her submission attempt in Round 1. But to come out on top and finish she had to overcome a truly gruesome and shameless display.
Priscilla Cachoeira was repeatedly trying to eyegouge Robertson during the choke.
Cachoeira didn’t manage to cheat her way out of defeat making this performance effectively the 7th stoppage victory in the women’s flyweight division for Robertson. She was previously tied with Valentina Shevchenko. This is a record for the division.

Yeah, don't need to see Cachoeira in the UFC again after this. Or another fight period, if I'm being honest. https://t.co/VhxIQ6YLBy

Robertson wasn’t pleased about the way the referee reacted:
"I'm definitely just hoping that the ref stops the fight at that point. I don't even think he even gave her a warning."@savage_ufc explains what she was thinking when Priscila Cachoeira was gouging her eyes.

DC might of not watched film on Cachoeira but she definitely watched film on DC with those eye pokes pic.twitter.com/XTirSwxw6o

Those eye gouges should not be overlooked. That could cause a career- or life-altering injury. Some kind of discipline needs to be taken on Cachoeira. It’s just unacceptable. #UFC269

Love seeing Joe Rogan call out Priscila Cachoeira for all the cheating she did in this fight. #UFC269
